Current Openings

The construction project engineer reviews the plans and financial projections for the job to be sure that they are accurate and reasonable. The PE also create project schedules and works with contractors to assure the work is done properly and on time. The project engineer will meet regularly with all of the parties involved, including the PM, Subcontractors and the client, to provide status updates and answer questions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with PM/Project Superintendent to aid in the success of the project goals

  • Maintain thorough understanding of the Owner contract

  • Oversee the pay request process

  • Produce and maintain project master schedule

  • Monitor project internal labor costs

  • Process project submittals

  • Develop, schedule and lead project close-out processes

  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors and Owners to represent RNW core values

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial/industrial construction projects

  • Advanced knowledge of construction principles/practices required

  • Experience dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work

  • Experience leading project crew

  • Must have good organizational, team management, problem solving, motivational skills

  • Have experience using the following: On-Screen Takeoff Software, MS Office Programs, MS Project and estimating software

The construction superintendent will interview and select workers for the site. He is responsible for teaching safety procedures to new hires and enforcing the rules. He will also keep the timecards and report them for payroll, prepare the work schedule and approve time off requested by workers.

Job Description:

  • Manage all aspects of the on-site construction process

  • Coordination of all field activities

  • Scheduling

  • Manage subcontractors and vendors

  • Coordinate and manage with the PM on field changes, RFI’s and change orders

  • Assist in the project submittals

  • Maintain a safe and orderly jobsite

  • Perform jobsite safety meetings

  • Must be able to respect the confidentiality regarding personnel, client and all company related matters

  • Must develop a basic understanding of company processes and project operations

  • Understand the flow of communication needed with the Project Management and Accounting Departments

Qualifications:

  • 2 years college or Associates Degree preferred

  • Prefer at least 10 years of commercial construction experience with 3 years in supervision and related management or equivalent.

  • Ability to work in a construction environment with attention to detail, quality and professionalism

  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously – must be detailed oriented and flexible

  • Demonstrate ability to follow-up and follow through on assignments and projects

  • Excellent customer service skills and a team player

  • Field operations experience and familiarity with standard construction practices

  • Ability to read architectural drawings and structural specification sheets

  • Have experience using the following: MS Office Programs, MS Project and Outlook

Foremen determine the priorities for work to be done, sometimes based on their own initiative and authority, but more often based on needs communicated by sales or management. They must determine whether they have the number of employees possessing the required skills for the job, verify that the needed items are available and direct employees on which tasks are to be completed first. If problems arise, the foreman may alter the schedule to minimize down time or assign workers to another section if necessary.
